Life On Mars? Pilot Has Life On Pirate Websites

The pilot of David E. Kelley's upcoming Life on Mars has suddenly appeared on pirate websites, TV Week reported Wednesday. The appearance of the video is likely to upset ABC programming executives since they ordered the series to be overhauled after seeing the pilot -- which is not likely ever to be aired in its original form. In a message posted on the TV Week site, Rick Ellis -- presumably the same writer who operates the AllYourTV.com website -- observed that the appearance of the pilots of other TV series have been leaked online before being extensively retooled and that at least five fall pilots are currently available on various file-sharing sites.

Sex Pistols announce new London date

Punk icons the Sex Pistols are set to play London's Hammersmith Apollo later this year.

The band will perform at the venue for the first time in their history on September 2, 30 years after their lead singer, John Lydon, was apparently banned from the venue.

The venue is also allegedly where Steve Jones acquired some of his guitars during David Bowie's 'farewell' performance as Ziggy Stardust in 1973.

Tickets go on sale Monday (June 16).

To check the availability of Sex Pistols tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/GIGS now, or call 0871 230 1094.

The Cribs get manhandled by Mark E Smith - Tabloid Hell

The Cribs were subjected to some mild violence at the hand of a middle-aged rock legend at an awards ceremony on Monday (June 16).

The Fall's Mark E Smith apparently 'attacked' the Wakefield group after they presented him with an award.

The temperamental singer became irate after he was asked to pose for photos with the Jarman brothers.

According to XFM, Smith then pushed them off the podium and demanded that photos of him alone were taken.

The frontman's temperamental nature has been well documented, and The Fall have been through nearly 50 members in their thirty-year history.

Russia wins Eurovision in Belgrade

Russia has won the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with the song 'Believe'.
Sung by Dima Bilan, 'Believe' received 272 points with Ukraine in second with 230 and Greece in third with 218.
Bilan had come second in the competition in 2006.
The winner of the Eurovision will appear on the season finale of 'The Late Late Show' next Friday.
The contest, held in Belgrade after Marija Serifovic's ballad clinched victory for Serbia in its debut as a solo nation in 2007, was broadcast live across Europe to an estimated audience of 100 million people.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel Live Out A Pop Song In '500 Days Of Summer'

What can you say about Zooey Deschanel that hasn't already been said? She's lovely, she's talented — she's positively one of a kind.

Well, OK, she's not exactly one of a kind on the set of her newest film, "500 Days of Summer," where MTV News was treated to 16 identical Zooeys, including the genuine article herself, all dressed in the same blue dress with a cute little headband holding back their black, shoulder-length hair.

Now, 16 Zooeys aren't a common sight in downtown Los Angeles, especially just a few blocks away from Skid Row (or anywhere, for that matter). But then, neither is a Hall & Oates sing-along or a parade of dancers led by Deschanel's co-star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. But wander onto the set of this new genre-twisting romantic comedy on any given day, as MTV did Wednesday, and you're likely to see all that and more, Gordon-Levitt playfully announced.

"I play the character of Tom. He's a hopeless romantic, a lovesick young man who falls in love with [Zooey's character] Summer, and he gets dumped," Gordon-Levitt revealed. "The thing is, the movie is all from the point of view of this guy, and this guy has watched way too many movies and listened to far too many pop songs. So his life becomes a pop song."

And he means literally: His character not only breaks out in song at several points but even leads at least two rousing dance numbers during the course of the movie, including an especially complicated routine after the couple spends their first night together.

"Yeah, the time he finally sleeps with the girl, it breaks into a dance number," Gordon-Levitt smiled. "I get to be that dude!"

"He just got the girl he didn't think he could get, and he wakes up the next morning and it's the greatest day ever," writer Scott Neustadter added. "That's where the dance number comes from. That feeling is something you can relate to. You've never been in a parade, dancing, but you can relate to that feeling of 'What a great morning it is' or 'I'm the center of the universe because I did what I never thought I could do.' "

Neustadter and director Marc Webb call it the "kitchen-sink mentality," the film's relentless pursuit of any sort of levity. But the singing, the dancing and the 16 Zooeys are all part of a master plan, Gordon-Levitt insisted, a style that takes its cues from romantic comedies like "Annie Hall" and "High Fidelity."

Whereas in most movies the plot forces the action forward, here the plot sometimes forces the action backward, or sideways, or not at all, the actor said, since the film isn't actually about what happens at all, but about how his character remembers what happens.

"It's a story chopped up into 500 days, but you don't see all 500 days from beginning to end, from the time they meet until the end of the story. It's not told in order. It's more like him thinking back on these 500 days with this girl, Summer. One day reminds him of another day," Gordon-Levitt explained. " 'I remember when I walked to work because I was all happy because we just had sex for the first time, and that reminds me of that day 100 days later when we'd already broken up and I was horribly depressed.' That's the way the story is told."

In the scene we witnessed, for instance, Tom is taking the bus the day after Summer breaks up with him. And as people still in love are wont to do, he begins to see her everywhere. Hence the 16 Zooeys, all fitting his idealized version of the girl he loves.

Silly? Absolutely. But that's just the way it should be, Gordon-Levitt said.

"Not that love shouldn't be overly romanticized, it should be. But there's a way to do it in a childish way, and there are ways to do it in a more manly way," he said. "I guess that's what '500 Days of Summer' is all about."

Check out everything we've got on "500 Days of Summer."

Hello girls!

JONAS Brothers Nick, Joe and Kevin are pop music’s latest heart-throbs.

The squeaky-clean trio — already huge in the US — make teenage girls’ hearts
flutter but at the same time nauseate "real" music fans.

But you’d get better used to them. Their self-titled album release will be
followed by a big-screen debut in new Disney movie Camp Rock.

Nick, 15, Joe, 18, and Kevin, 20, are already millionaires but things weren’t
so rosy 18 months ago when they were dumped by Columbia Records after debut
album It’s About Time flopped.

But saved by Disney, they signed to Hollywood Records and starred alongside
Miley Cyrus on TV’s The Hannah Montana Show.
Here, they talk to JACQUI SWIFT about their success, cracking
Britain and appealing to anyone over 14.You’re massive in the US. Are you expecting the same reaction in the UK? Nick: We can only hope and pray that happens. For us, it’s just living
out our dreams and we will leave the rest for our fans to decide.
Camp Rock vs Hannah Montana – why is yours a better film for kids? Joe: It is really hard to pick between the two. We’re really excited
about Camp Rock as it’s our first real acting experience.

But working with Miley has been amazing and we hope to work with her again
soon.
You were dropped after your first album. Did you worry it was all over? Kevin: There were times we thought that but we definitely hoped that
things would happen. Then we paired up with Disney and we began to fulfil
our dreams.
Your core fanbase is young girls but what will you do when they grow up? Kevin: We plan to grow up with them. We write our own music and play a
range of instruments so as we get older our music is going to grow.

We learn so much from our fans of all ages every day — what they like and who
they are as people.
Describe your sound. Nick: It’s very Seventies and Eighties-inspired — upbeat pop rock. We
grew up listening to Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, Stevie Wonder, Prince and
The Rascals.
Which are your favourite songs on the new album? Kevin: Nick and I like SOS because it’s a fun song you can dance to but
it still talks about heartbreak. Joe likes Still In Love With You.
Nick, you suffer from diabetes and even wrote a song about it . . . Nick: It’s called A Little Bit Longer and is the title track of our
next record, out next year in the UK.

I wrote it while I was in Canada filming Camp Rock.
What are your ambitions for the rest of your Jonas Brothers career? Nick: Continue making records, acting and touring. We’ve also started
producing and writing for other artists. We’re writing for Demi Lovato, our
Camp Rock co-star.
Will there be solo albums? Joe: We’re not planning any but we would consider side projects. We
would never be able to leave the band as we feel stronger as a unit.
Any other things you’d like to try? Kevin: Continue writing and producing and maybe bring out a clothing
line. We want to continue making music for the rest of our lives.
